I Galli Island, Italy

 I Galli Island

On the way to Capri, we will stop to observe I Galli Island, which means "The Rooster" in Italian. Ironically, the island is distinctly shaped like a large dolphin when viewed from above. Historically it was used as a Roman anchorage and contains hidden archeological ruins. It also housed a monastery, a prison and a 16th century watch tower to ward off pirates. In ancient Greek mythology the island was the home of the sirens, which are mythological creatures - half woman, half bird.  Il Galli was also featured location in Homers classic "The Odyssey".

Nerano, Italy

Nerano

The next stop will be in Nerano, one of the best towns in the Amalfi Coast It features a wide pebble beach, crystal-clear turquoise water, and a famous lineup of seaside restaurants built on wooden piers. Nerano is universally famous for its local gastronomy (pasta alla Nerano / Zucchini Pasta), fueled by fresh catches from the Tyrrhenian Sea and organic hillside produce.

Grotta Azzura, Italy

Grotta Azzura

Another famed destination - The Grotta Azzurra (Blue Grotto). It's a world-famous natural sea cave located on the northwestern coast of the island of Capri. Measuring roughly 60 meters long and 25 meters wide, it is globally celebrated for its surreal, glowing electric-blue water. Historically, the Roman Emperor Tiberius used the cave as a private nymphaeum (sea temple), and had magnificent statues of Roman gods placed along the cave walls. Archaeologists have retrieved multiple statues of Poseidon and tritons from the cave floor.

Faraioni Di Capri, Italy

Faraioni Di Capri / Capri Island

Perhaps the world's most famed island on the south side of the Gulf of Naples. Known for its dramatic limestone cliffs, deep blue water, and ancient Roman history, it has been a playground for emperors, artists, and celebrities for thousands of years. Here you will experience The Faraglioni Rocks: Three towering rock formations that erupt right out of the sea just off the island's coast. You will also indulge in Marina Piccola: A sun-drenched bay on the southern side of the island. It features small beaches and waterfront restaurants facing the Faraglioni rocks, making it a favorite anchoring spot for private yachts. Here we recommend a meal out La Fontelina, one of the most iconic restaurants in Capri.
